Need some summer fun inspiration? Find it with Miracle-Gro's Gro Project's Garden Education!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Miracle-Gro for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Iowa had "the wettest April on record" this year, as well as a very rainy, cool May (and even snow in May!) and so far, a fairly rainy and cool June. I don't know about you but I've been exhausting my resources to find unique, enjoyable activities for the kiddos and I to do to occupy our time indoors (and a few outdoor projects!) I found my latest inspiration from Miracle-Gro's The Gro Project (be sure to visit The Gro Project as a resource to start your story!) The Gro Project showcases that garden projects should not be complicated and hard to do. They want to show a whole new class of gardeners that gardening can be simple and fun. They have created three fun garden projects that you can do alone or with your kids.

I did not have the time or resources to attempt any of the projects but I thought the toyrarium seemed most up our alley. See photo below for an idea of how your toyrarium should appear.

Materials needed:

*Fishbowl or other glass (or plastic) container

*Your favorite succulents and cactus

*Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix

*Your kids' (or your) favorite small toys and figurines for decoration

*Small rocks or pebbles

Simply cover the bottom of the container with a small layer of rocks. Next, fill your toyrarium about 1/3 full with potting mix. Use the spoon to plant succulents and cacti in the potting mix, adding more mix to create your landscape. Set the scene with your toys. Careful not to overwater! Use a spritzer to moisten only when it becomes very dry. Don't forget to use your imagination!

Below are a few more fun ideas for containers to use for your toyrariums!
