Note: Your mileage may vary. I don't frequent Dollar General but I have heard that they will apply overage if you are purchasing other items or adjust the coupons. However, I have also heard that Dollar General does not address coupons higher than the value of the item so it will depend on your store weather they will accept the coupon for more than the value of the item. You could always call and ask before making a special trip.
