Everyone always gets confused about how many coupons you can use for your purchases, including cashiers and sometimes even managers.
When buying one item, you are allowed to use one manufacturer coupon and one store coupon together.
During a Buy One Get One sale, you are allowed to use 2 manufacturer coupons and 2 store coupons. Very few stores will not allow you to do so.
On a Buy One Get One sale, you are allowed to use a BOGO coupon and get both items free, however tax will still apply.
When buying 2 products and using a BOGO coupon, you are also allowed to use a $ off coupon on the item that you are “buying”. Let's say, a coupon says “Buy lotion and get a body wash free”. That coupon will attach to the body wash since you are getting that item free with the coupon. You are also allowed to use a $ amount off coupon on the lotion as long as nowhere on the “Buy lotion, get a body wash free” coupon does it say you have to pay full price for the lotion (and it typically doesn't). That being said, you cannot use a BOGO coupon along with a $/2 coupon because the $/2 coupon attaches to both products. So, you can’t buy 2 razors and use a BOGO coupon and a $4 off 2 coupon but you can use a BOGO coupon and a $2 off 1 coupon.
When buying 4 or more of the same product, you can use 4 or more coupons even if they say “one per purchase”. Although some cashiers (and sometimes managers) will say differently.(don't let them!) Each item is a purchase. One per transaction means you must ring each item up in separate orders.
Just remember, you may only use ONE manufacturer coupon per item. Some examples of different manufacturer coupons are: peelies, blinkies, insert coupons from Sunday’s paper, coupons from booklets or magazines, and internet printables. Since all of these are manufacturer coupons, you can not use 2 of them together on one item.
You can only use ONE store coupon per item.

ReplyDeleteShannon, does Walgreens allow this or do you have to buy a 2nd item (filler) so you have the same number of items that you have coupons?
Hi! At Walgreens, store coupons don’t count as coupons when you are figuring out item to coupon ratios at Walgreens. Just be sure to always use your manufacturer coupon before the store coupon!
